.EDITOR: Waverly Newspapers, a family-owned business rich in heritage and supplying the community news for over 186 years, is seeking an editor to lead our team. The successful candidate will determine newspaper content and collaborate with our team to create two publications per week for our audience. The editor will pursue local community storytelling and regular reporting, along with collaborating with interns and correspondents. This position is not remote. It requires 40 hours and offers flexibility along with competitive pay. Knowledge of BLOX CMS is useful but not required. SPORTS EDITOR:  The Carroll Times Herald/Iowa Information Media Group has an immediate opening for the Sports Editor for its Central Division. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a family-owned newspaper and cover area sports that are important to readers. The Sports Editor for the Central Division is responsible for the overall editorial content of the company’s websites and newspapers in Carroll, Coon Rapids and Jefferson, Iowa. The sports editor will collaborate with a team to produce high-quality journalism that informs and entertains readers. The sport editor is responsible for the overall sports content of the group, which includes coverage of local schools and collaborating with contributors/stringers. The sports editor will also develop and implement editorial strategies to help the newspapers grow audience and reach.
